No doubt Burns Road food street gives an original taste of food. This street was not set up purposely by any government, it evolve naturally from the people who live near the street. These people migrated from India and start their food business on a street but they were involved in the food business from the subcontinent

In My Following series of burns road street food. This is 2nd part of the series, In this, I am going to talk about light food or dessert items on the street.

  •   Delhi Rabri House




Delhi Rabri House was started in 1964. From the name as you can see it is famous for Rabri. Rabri is a sweet milk-based dish. It is made by boiling milk on low heat until it becomes dense and changes its color from white to yellow. Nuts are added to give extra flavor and taste. Delhi Rabri House has many more things like pasta Rabri, Rabri with no sugar, Falooda, Ice cream, Kheer, etc. And every dessert has a unique taste.

  •   Pakistani Dilbahar Dahi Baray



Delhi ke mashoor Pakistani Dilbahar Dahi Baray serving Dahi baray after the 7 years of independence of Pakistan (1954) till now. Presently 3rd generation of owners is running the food business. Dahi is simply yogurt but in this, They use sweet yogurt, Chickpeas, mashed potato, special masala, chaat masala, and Baray. Baray is made with pulses and corn.

  •   Fresco Sweets

Arabic paratha



Fresco sweets were started in 1952. Fresco sweets are famous for dahi baray, Arabic paratha, Nimco, sweets, and many more things of a huge variety. They offer the best taste in hygienic food and also they are no 1 on Burns Road in offering breakfast.


 Price: breakfast for 250PKR per person. 2 poori (fine flour bread deep fried), With Halwa (pudding), Achar (pickles), aalu bhujiya (This simple potato stir-fry is made in mustard oil and uses minimal spices), and chana (meal)

  •  1°C - THE LIQUID SHOP

Left one is peach. The right one is blueberry


In Karachi, there are several soda shops but people quite love 1°C - THE LIQUID SHOP. They have three branches in different areas of Karachi. They offer a free taster of different sodas, So a person selects the best one for himself by tasting. They have more than 20 flavors of soda containing green apple, peach crush, blueberry, pomegranate, mint lemonade, lychee, limca, etc.


Soda: (carbonated water (originally made with sodium bicarbonate) mixed with fruit juice)

nowadays Burns Road food streets are renovated and separated from the traffic. after 7 pm roads are closed for traffic and public transport. Restaurants and carts are setups on the road in an open environment. people can enjoy food in a less noisy environment. burns Road provides authentic taste in every food. Restaurant owners are serving food for 3 to 5 decades, so you can imagine "there is no compromise on food quality and taste."
